This Monday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m.
Few things are as satisfying as a survival tale, and no one knows that better than Lauren Tarshis. The author of the "I Survived" series has put a boy protagonist into an ever-increasing roster of disasters and thereby taught a lot young readers a great deal of well-researched history. Whether her character is digging out after Vesuvius, skirting the guns at Gettysberg, or scrambling to dry land after Katrina, her books provide an exciting lesson in resilience. The newest book (No. 13) takes on the explosion of the Hinderburg in 1937. You'll be blown away by this video of the event.
