Do you dream of being a reporter or an editor? Are you a good writer who loves the news? If so, then you may have what it takes to be a winner of the TFK Kid Reporter Contest. We’re looking for 10 students from around the nation to be members of the TFK Kid Reporter team for the 2018-2019 school year. Next year’s team will continue the tradition of reporting local and regional news stories for TIME for Kids magazine and TIME for Kids online.

How to Enter
  1. Write a report no longer than 450 words about an interesting event in your school or community. The story should include a headline and quotes from people you’ve interviewed.
  2. On a separate paper, write a personal statement no longer than 50 words that explains why you would be a good TFK Kid Reporter.
  3. Complete this official entry form. Entries must be postmarked by July 6, 2018, and you must be 13 years of age or younger on September 1, 2018 in order to enter. Be sure to read the official rules and share them with your parent or guardian, who must sign the entry form.
  4. Mail your entry form, news story, personal statement, and a recent school photo of yourself (optional) to TIME for Kids, at:
