Thursday, 11/7

Parents:
  • UPDATE: We will be switching P.E. periods with Ms. Calara's class tomorrow due to the conflict with the Science Lab owl pellet dissection. P.E. will be from 9:00 - 9:50 a.m.
  • Tomorrow: The 4th grade classes will be having one big Science Lab led by Ms. Turner and Ms. Tom. The focus will be on owl pellet dissection so... If your child is allergic or sensitive to animal fur/hair, please let me know ASAP. We will sequester those who are in the library for their safety.
  • In yesterday's Wednesday Folder:
    • Spell-A-Thon pledge forms and corrected contest papers. Please collect the pledges and submit them by next Friday, 11/15
    • Old Spaghetti Factory Reading coupon bookmark. Have your child read 5 books and write them down on the bookmark. Parents need to sign it, and when you bring it into an Old Spaghetti Factory, a kid's meal is free for each adult meal purchased. Click here for the link to San Jose's OSF location and menu.
    • November Reading Is Cool reading log
  • CORRECTION: Congratulations to Zifei and Matthew, who are our Reading Is Cool Readers of the Month for October! She is a voracious reader and can always be found with a book, so it's no surprise that she amassed an unbelievable 10,198 pages read in one month! He loves to read books and took the log so seriously, he amassed a whopping 9,718 pages read! Reminder: Please have your child enter in the TITLE/s of the book/s they are reading as well as the NUMBER of PAGES they read that day (for at least 30 minutes) in their San Jose Sharks Reading Is Cool monthly reading tracker. They could opt to read other material like magazines, guidebooks, etc. but they should still log them in the reading log.
