• If your child remembers our guest presenter who played the shamisen and shakuhachi, Baisho Matsumoto will be playing this Sunday in Saratoga's Japanese Festival at Hakone Gardens. There is an admission ($5) and parking charge ($5) but from what I hear, it is a good time for all. You can purchase tickets at Parking Lot 5, West Valley College on May 21st, since that is where you will be parking (and then they will shuttle you up to the Gardens).

• ATTENTION STUDENTS: A student found something that should not have been inside his backpack (bag of a tomato red-like liquid); his parent just brought this to my attention and now I am reminding you to 1) RESPECT other people's stuff and 2) BE MINDFUL of your backpack and belongings whether you are INSIDE the classroom or OUTSIDE on the blacktop (before or after school).
