Do your duty! VOTE!

This coming Tuesday, for one day, Ruskin will be home to one of the nation's most honored civic events.

Tuesday, November 6, will see people from all over the Ruskin community parking their cars, entering our multipurpose room, and either connecting arrows or dropping off envelopes as they faithfully exercise the ever important duty as a United States citizen: the right to vote.

I am going to vote that day.

And so should you.

I can't tell you for whom or for what to vote.

But I can politely request that as you vote, please think of the future generations of this country and community, as well as the schools in which they will learn the basics of this great nation and ever-changing society.

So I leave you with this: a quotation, which can be found on a poster behind my classroom desk, from one of the greatest writers this nation has ever birthed, cultivated, and honored...Samuel Langhorne Clemens, who was better known under the nom de plume (pen name)...Mark Twain.

"Out of the public school grows the greatness of a nation."

- Mark Twain

Thank you for voting.
