Weekend Going-Ons (and Beyond)

  • Time for Kids (open magazine) quiz on Monday.
  • Reminder: Class T-Shirt order forms, Math Olympiad registration forms, and Lego Robotics forms were made available to students on Wednesday. Get them in ASAP, if your child is interested.
  • TODAY is a Ruskin PTA fundraiser at Ono Hawaiian BBQ on Brokaw before Oakland Road (next to Panera). It will take place from 5-8 p.m. YOU NEED TO PRESENT THE FLYER, so if you need another one you can use this image (copy, paste, enlarge before you copy). 50% of the purchases are donated directly to Ruskin's PTA. It says it's for "dine in" only, but all of their meals are placed in to-go containers like Panda Express.
  • Next Wednesday, October 5, is International Walk to School Day.
  • Next Friday, October 7, is Ruskin's Multicultural Fair from 5-7 p.m. Come and share your cultural heritage as you learn about others'!
  • We are beginning two Reading Log programs in October: Book It!, sponsored by Pizza Hut, and Reading is Cool, sponsored by the San Jose Sharks. Students who complete the monthly reading log get a coupon for a free personal pizza and entered monthly for possible prizes from the Sharks.
  • Congratulations to Andrea, who had the winning design for our t-shirt! (We are the "Popularly Peaceful Pandas)
Now Some Fun Stuff:
  • Registration opens for Saturday Evening Candlelight Tours of Fort Point (Civil War era fort below the Golden Gate Bridge)! Starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Here is the registration link to enter the ticket lottery. For more information about Fort Point and its tours, click here.
  • Saturday, October 1 (4:00 p.m.) Barnes and Noble is having a FREE Lego Build Event. Closest Barnes and Noble stores are San Jose's Eastridge, Almaden, and Stevens Creek locations.
