HW - Wednesday, 11/9

Parents:
  • TONIGHT:
    • School Site Council meeting @ 5:00 p.m.
    • Ruskin PTA meeting @ 6:00 p.m. Ruskin's social worker, Aleece Nyland, will be presenting on the Role of the Social Worker and Bullying/Peer Conflict.
    • Both meetings are OPEN TO ALL who would like to attend.
  • TOMORROW is a Spirit Day: DISNEY DAY. Dress up as a Disney character (not Tarzan, please); bring Disney dolls or stuffed animals; wear Disney clothes; and/or bring a Disney book to share. Remember: Star Wars and Marvel are OWNED by Disney (you're welcome).

  • Friday, November 11, is Veterans Day. It is both a federal and state holiday so there will be NO SCHOOL. Please think about those who have served our country and especially those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Read more about the holiday: http://www.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetdayhistory.asp
  • Due to errors in the computer program, I will be reviewing the math tests students have been taking online. Unfortunately, the online program was marking answers like 4539 incorrect because there wasn't a comma (4,539). Also, if the order of some numbers were wrong, for example when a student was executing the expanded algorithm for multiplication, then the computer gave zero to fractional credit despite the correctness of the partial products. It will be a time-consuming task and the Topic 6 test may be the last online math test we are going to take this year for quite some time.
  • Pizza Hut vouchers for a free personal pizza were distributed today.
